90°, 180° and 360° reviews

Clear review cycles, with indicators and feedback that turn into action plans.

RHTECH runs the review cycle end to end, from self-assessment to calibration, and returns the result as a development plan, not as a report.

Build cycles with competencies, behaviors and goals. Collect input from the employee, manager and peers with automatic consolidation and direct export to the IDP and Succession Planning modules.

Modular platform: start with this module alone or combine it with others.

    What usually stalls performance reviews

At most companies, the problem with performance reviews is not the form. It is what happens after it. The cycle opens, people respond, HR consolidates everything in a spreadsheet and, by the time the result is ready, the context behind that score has passed. The manager receives a snapshot of a quarter that is already over, not a conversation they can have now. That is where the reputation for bureaucracy comes from: the instrument works, what does not work is the gap between reviewing and doing something with the result.

The second issue is comparison. When each department builds its own scale, chooses its own competencies and weights them its own way, one team's results do not line up with another's. Without that comparison, promotion, succession and development investment decisions have no footing, and HR ends up arbitrating case by case. That eats HR's time and, worse, erodes leaders' trust in the whole process.

RHTECH's performance review software works on both points. The cycle runs inside the platform, with self-assessment, manager, peers and a consensus meeting on the same screen, and the result is calculated without an intermediate spreadsheet. The scale and the competency model are defined at the company level, so what comes out of one department is comparable with what comes out of another. And the cycle does not end in a PDF: the gaps identified go straight into the IDP (individual development plan) and, when the company also uses Training, point to the matching training.

None of this replaces the conversation between a manager and their direct report, which is still where the review really happens. What the platform does is clear away the work that delays that conversation: manual consolidation, chasing deadlines, fixing mismatched scales and the report nobody opens. The manager arrives with the data ready, and HR stops being the team that builds spreadsheets and becomes the team that follows up on what was agreed.

    Why choose Performance Review

Built to solve the real problem, not just to "have the module".

    Configurable cycles

90°, 180°, 360° or self-assessment: you set the scale, weights, questions and collection windows without technical help.

    Collect by link, no login

Reviewers answer through their own link or the dashboard, ideal for external managers and peers without system access.

    Connects with IDPs and Succession

Identified gaps become IDP (individual development plan) actions; identified talent automatically enters the Succession Planning radar.

    Cycle audit

Who answered, when, from where and with what result, with a cycle integrity seal for internal audits.

    Part of the platform

This module shares people, permissions and audit trail with the others, with no duplicate records and no retraining.

Calibration, the conversation that makes scores comparable

There is a problem no form can solve, and it is the one that most undermines trust in a review cycle: different managers use the same scale in different ways. A demanding manager gives a 3 to someone another would give a 5, and both scores enter the system with the same weight. When results come out, the person in the demanding team looks worse than they are, and anyone comparing the two teams draws the wrong conclusion about both.

The fix is called calibration: a meeting held after reviews are filled in and before results are shared, where managers at the same level present their scores and justify the ones at the extremes. It is not about forcing a curve or making anyone change their mind. It is so everyone can see what a colleague considered exceeds and what they considered meets, and adjust if they want to, with the context on the table.

The platform supports that meeting rather than replacing it. Reviews are visible side by side, the 9-box grid shows the distribution by department before the cycle closes, and any score change made during calibration is recorded with author and reason. That record is what prevents the question that comes up three months later, when someone disputes the result and nobody remembers why the score changed.

If your company has never calibrated, start small: one leadership level, one hour of meeting, only the scores at the extremes. The conversation usually reveals more about the competency model than about the people being reviewed, and that is where it pays back the time it took.

    FAQ

    Questions about Performance Review

What is the difference between 90, 180 and 360 degree reviews?

In a 90° review, only the manager reviews the employee. In a 180° review, the manager review and the self-assessment are compared side by side. In a 360° review, peers, direct reports and other reviewers are added, which reduces single-source bias. With RHTECH you choose the format for each cycle; you do not need to use the same model across the whole company.

How does the 9-box grid work?

The grid crosses delivered performance with assessed potential and places each person in a box. It is generated from the cycle itself, with no manual data entry, and serves as the basis for succession planning, promotion decisions and IDP priorities.

Does the review result turn into an action plan?

Yes. Competency gaps identified in the cycle are exported directly to the IDP module, so the plan starts with the gaps to work on. If you use Training, the gap also suggests the matching training. The cycle ends in action, not in a PDF.

How long does it take to set up the first cycle?

The platform includes ready-made competency and behavior templates, so most of the work is reviewing and adjusting them to your context. Companies that already have a defined competency model usually open their first cycle within the guided onboarding period.
