Individual development plan

A living IDP, connected to reviews, training and each employee's career.

RHTECH turns the gaps found in the review cycle into a development plan with an owner, deadline and follow-up, so the IDP actually gets done.

Action plans for each employee with goals, deadlines, learning actions and follow-up, fed by Performance Review gaps and updated automatically by the other modules.

Modular platform: start with this module alone or combine it with others.

Why so many IDPs are written and never happen

The individual development plan (IDP) is probably the most written and least executed document in HR. It is born at the end of the review cycle, with good intentions on both sides, and disappears the following week. It does not disappear for lack of will: it disappears because it sits in a file nobody opens again, with no visible deadline, no clear next action and no reminder between one review and the next.

There is also a problem at the source. When the IDP is written from scratch in a thirty-minute conversation, it reflects what the manager and employee managed to remember at that moment, not what the cycle showed. That produces generic plans, like improve communication, which do not say what to do the following Monday and therefore produce no action at all.

The RHTECH Development module starts from data that already exists. Gaps identified in the review cycle reach the IDP as a starting point, each action has an owner and a deadline, progress appears in a mini kanban, and continuous feedback lives in the same place, so the mid-cycle conversation has somewhere to happen without scheduling yet another meeting.

A good plan still depends on a manager who follows up, and no software creates that habit. What the platform does is remove the operational excuses: the plan is visible to both sides, the deadline shows up before it passes and what was agreed last cycle is on screen at the next conversation, instead of depending on whoever has the best memory.

    Why choose Development

Built to solve the real problem, not just to "have the module".

    One IDP per employee

Each person has a plan with goals, actions, deadlines and owners, visible to the employee and the manager.

    Linked to training

An IDP action becomes an enrollment in a class or online course with one click, without retyping or losing the link.

    Leader follow-up

Managers follow progress, record 1:1s, feedback, mentoring and training, and keep the team's development history.

    Status that updates itself

An action completed in another module (training, review, OKR) updates the IDP automatically: no manual check-offs.

    FAQ

    Questions about Development

What is an IDP and what is it for?

The individual development plan is the agreement between an employee and their manager about what will be developed, how and by when. It turns the result of a review into concrete learning actions, with an owner and a deadline, instead of a yearly conversation nobody follows up on.

How does the IDP connect to the performance review?

Competency gaps found in the review cycle are exported to the IDP, which starts with the points to develop. That removes the step where the manager rereads the report and retypes everything, and makes sure the plan addresses what the review actually found.

How does the AI suggest development actions?

Based on the recorded gap, the AI proposes learning actions that fit the role and the company's context: reading, on-the-job practice, available training and mentoring topics. The manager edits, approves or discards them; the suggestion speeds up writing the plan, it does not decide for anyone.

    Can managers follow progress?

Yes. Each plan has a mini kanban with the stage of each action, a record of continuous feedback between formal conversations and automatic deadline reminders. The manager sees the whole team's plans on one screen, without chasing status by message.
